How to Become a Permanent Resident (PR) in the CNKR

A guide to the application process for permanent residency in The People's Republic of Chinese Korea.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must have legally resided in the CNKR Mainland Area for a continuous period, typically around seven years, establishing the CNKR Mainland Area as their permanent home. The residence should be lawful and uninterrupted to qualify for permanent residency.

Required Documents

The applicant must submit a formal application with the following documents:

  • A valid foreign passport (excluding travel documents issued by the SAR governments).
  • A valid CNKR Education Visa, Official Visa, Political Asylum Visa, or other visas with a valid working permit.
  • A valid CNKR ID Card, without the "C", "P", "L", and "CR" symbols on the ID Card.
  • A medical examination record issued by the 中华国民医院 in Wang Tsing City within the last month.
  • A criminal record certificate from the Public Security Bureau of CNKR and the applicant’s country of origin.
  • A verified residence address that belongs to or is owned by the applicant or their legal guardian(s).
  • Spouses and dependent children of CNKR citizens or permanent residents may apply with supporting marital, family, and residence documents.
Application Process

Upon approval, the municipal government will send an "CNKR ID Card Renewal Notice" to the residential address submitted by the applicant. The applicant can then use the notice and their ID card to collect a new ID card at the Public Security Bureau of the Wang Tsing City.
